Roam Like Home With Rogers Travel Options

There’s no need to remove Roam Like HomeTM when you return to Canada. There are no additional fees to have it on your plan, and you’ll only be charged for Roam Like HomeTM when you use your device in an eligible destination. You will get charged as soon as either 1 text message is sent, a call is made or answered, or any amount of data is used. You are not charged when you're connecting to the US Network or when you receive a text message. I appreciate the troubleshooting steps you've taken so far. I know this was a feature you were specifically interested in.

Thank you for your posts, we appreciate that you took the time to bring the Roam Like Home Trigger/no Trigger to our attention. Just thought I'd jump in to clarify the MMS for you. Roaming and Long Distance rules are based on how the tower in switches work... So this is essentially now made into a standard on how all the features work. Are almost a third more likely to bring a device to access the Internet.

If I had seen that thread, I would have cancelled the RLH before the travel. Need to do some homework before my next travel. Interestingly enough, one month later, Rogers called me and asked why I quit.

If you are a frequent traveller, add a Canada+US option to your Rogers InfiniteTM plan.

I had asked Rogers in the past before I went out of town and they said the local people should pay local calling rates. There is a lag on both sides of the conversation during phone calls. If I say hello she will hear it about 1 second later and vice-versa.

If you have a Family Sharing plan then the $100 maximum overage only applies once to the account, not for each and every cell phone line on that account. Any roaming add-on you buy counts towards this cap. So, if you buy data to be used in the US for $20 then the most your carrier can charge you at the end of the month in overage fees is $80.

Most Rogers customers with an eligible postpaid wireless plan are automatically enrolled in Roam Like HomeTM. Roam Like HomeTM lets you use the talk, text and data included in your monthly plan just like you would at home. Check your destination to make sure it is covered.

We're sorry to hear about the issues you are experiencing with Roam Like Home in France. I know how important it is being able to keep in touch with your loved ones back in Canada while you are traveling abroad. The fact that you signed up for the service with that in mind and you have been unable to is definitely problematic. In both instances I'm dialing the same number and do have the +1 both times.

If I'm only going to be charged when I use a service then I'll stay opt-in. Since December 2017 all phones bought in Canada must be sold unlocked or unlocked immediately after purchase. You need to confirm that you can use your phone on a different cell network, especially if you bought a phone before 2018. WhistleOut has a complete guide to help you unlock a cell phone in Canada. Just like their US plans, Rogers offers a variety of options for their customers who travel outside Canada for just a quick trip or on regular business. One of the purposes of Roam Like Home is that all of your Canadian contacts have the ability to reach you at no additional charges, even while you are abroad.

Rogers Roam Like Home solutions offer your simplest choice for any Canadian to take your smartphone, plan and phone number with you when you travel. In the past, international roaming costs were prohibitively expensive. Today they can be only a small additional fee. When I go to my email or safari, it says to turn on your cellular data, which is on. I have to factory reset my networks settings and it works again but again only for a tenth of time.

That even while roaming is OFF on the device.. Roam Like Home, is a billing based feature not an actual feature for every instance of calls or event. If a user did call forward and went roaming to US, they would be charged Roaming regardless. So I would suggest, don't call forward it, unless someone here in the community, confirms it isn't triggered.

A person on my plan is currently in India and using the feature. 2 phones, A and B, both travelling, both with Roam like Home activated. On a cellphone, if you go into APN and delete the WAP browser setting (The original Data back in the good ol' days) your MMS will turn off / fail as well. Call Forwarding is set to network and your account profile yes. To access your voicemail while roaming, hold down 1.

Also yes you knew about the roaming like home since you get texted and emailed it when you cross the border. So yes it is your "fault" no matter if it's a 1 min call or mins. You call a Canadian Number (who's in the U.S.) N Y - as it doesn't matter where they are in the world, you have called their phone number which is a Canadian number.

Saying that, they may still charge you the second you get across. More than 125 countries are supported across the globe by Rogers Roam Like Home service, covering nearly all of North America, South America, Europe, Asia and Oceania. Check out the Rogers Wireless roaming options site for the most up-to-date list. So best to turn off Roam Like Home or turn off phone or use "Airplane Mode" on trip outside of Canada.
