Bette Ireland, 89, died peacefully on Wednesday, June 29, 2022. The lifelong resident of Savannah was a graduate of Savannah High School and attended the University of Georgia. She was the only child of the late Wilbur Clay and Peggy Collins Bazemore. Bette was a founding member of Skidaway Island United Methodist Church where she served on the building committee.

Richard Earl Cooper, 81, of Greenville, South Carolina, passed away on Saturday, March 19,2022. Richard, nicknamed Butch, was born in Greenwood, SC on May 28,1939. Butch joined the United States Marine Corps at 17 years of age and retired after 30 years as Sergeant Major. He was in the top 20 selected for Sergeant Major of the United Sates Marine Corps. During World War II, Anita served proudly in the Army Air Corps as a corporal for two years. Returning to Savannah in 1946 when the war was over.
